EMBARGOED AREA IN OSTERSUND
Efforts are being made to try to arrange that two races of SKI WOC 2011 will be on TV. It is not clear if this will or will not be successful at this stage. However, in order for this to be possible and because it is a great area the organiser is likely to move two races of WOC 2011 (sprint and sprint relay) to the area round the ski stadium in the town of Ostersund, Sweden. COMPETITION PROGRAMME FOR SKI WOC 2011 NOT DECIDED YET
Hopefully, there will be two competitions broadcasted on television. The organizers are still waiting for the TV-company’s decision on which days the broadcasts will take place. Therefore, it is not yet possible to decide the competition programme for the World Championships in Sweden 2011. Organisers are working with three different alternatives. The time period for the World Championships will be the same as was presented earlier in Bulletin 1.

NEW ORGANISER OF THE SKI WOC 2011!?
In Sweden, ski orienteering has been part of the ski association for many years. At the Swedish Orienteering Federation (SOFT) convention in March 2010, it was discussed that ski orienteering may be part of the orienteering federation in the future. A decision was also made that the SOFT board will look into the possibilities of including ski orienteering regarding economical matters and at what suitable time. [...]

NEW EVENT CENTER FOR PART OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS
One or two competitions will be organised at the ski stadium in Ostersund. Broadcast financing for some World Championship competitions, is possible through the International Orienteering Federation. However, it demands special ski stadium and Tanndalen’s ski stadium it is not an option. Therefore, the organiser has planned to organise one or two competitions in Ostersund. The most suitable distances for broadcast are the sprint and the sprint relay.
